Hand It Over
“Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
It is really that simple. He knows. And what a gift that is. Every cry of your heart, every ache in your bones, every longing unfulfilled - He knows. Every whisper of love, every shout of praise, every sigh of gratitude - He knows.
So rest easy. Take all the cares of the day - the worries, the anxieties, the fears - and hand them over. Hand them over to the One who already knows.
Breathe deeply, breathe free. He knows, and He has a plan. Every financial fear, every lonely moment, and every season of overwhelm - hand it over. Every challenging relationship, every stinging disappointment, and every crippling insecurity - hand it over. His hands are large enough to carry our cares.
Because our Father doesn’t begrudgingly receive our worry,
Our Father loves to carry our cares.
Our Father longs to be told, to be invited - just like we do. I love the honor of being invited into confidence. It doesn’t matter if I already sort of know - I love the invitation, especially when I can help. And He’s really, really good at helping.
If I love invitations into the needs of others, how much more our Father must love our invitations to Him. So, invite Him. Let Him be the safe place you run. Let Him be a harbor. Invite Him into the chaos and the messiness of your life. Because He already knows what you need before you ask. He knows.
It’s really that simple.
Father,
Help us simplify. Help us to be simple. To need You and to know we need You.
Help us to invite You into every challenge, every stress. Please strip us of the lies that we don’t need You. We do. We need You more than ever. Each day, we need You to be all that You say You are. We need You to be love and safety and home. Please come and be the King of our hearts. Please come and manage all the hard situations we encounter. Please come with Your love and help us. We invite You. Into every circumstance, we invite You. Help us to hand over everything to You.
We love You, Lord; and only You know how much we truly, deeply need You.
