Buried Treasure

Treasure Chest in black room with light shining

“He considered me trustworthy”

Paul says, “I am grateful to him who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me trustworthy in appointing me to the ministry.”  He was appointed a ministry - after failure, after sin, after brokenness, God still used him.

Despite Paul’s failings, God still chose redemption.  And God chose trust. God trusted Paul with an appointment, with a mission.  Paul’s failings didn’t get in God’s way. God chose to trust Paul. And, just like Paul,

God trusts you.

There is a mission for your life that God has entrusted to you.  There is a mission that God will bestow upon you. There is a calling.  He will appoint each of us to a ministry - just like He appointed Paul.

He has chosen your ministry.  From the dawn of time, He knew your life, and He chose a people for you.  He has already chosen the people that will be impacted by your “Yes.” He’s decided the people you’re meant to love and serve.  He has a mission for you. And,

It all starts in His heart.

In His heart lies discovery.  We’re invited to seek after Him - to unearth His plans for our lives.  The buried treasure lies within His heart. The more we discover His heart, the more we long to share it.  And the more eager we are to share the treasures of His heart, the more we are able to identify the areas we’re called to share Him with the world - the areas we’re called to serve, the areas He’s entrusted to each of us.

Maybe you know exactly what ministry God is entrusting to you.  And maybe you don’t. Either way, it all starts in His heart. Either way, the treasure is there for the taking.

Father,

Thank You.  Thank You for everything.  Thank You for trusting us - especially since we’re not worthy of it.  Thank You for humbling Yourself to come to us. Thank You for desiring to partner with us.  Thank You for allowing us to be a part of the story of salvation with You.

God, we love You.  Show us, lead us, teach us how to follow You better.

Father, please reveal to each of us the missions and the ministries You’ve chosen for our lives.  Please help us to stay connected to You. No matter what, God.

Help us to recognize the treasure that You are and help us to never tire of seeking Your heart.  We know that Your heart is where it starts.
