Glorified
“Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and He will glorify Him at once.”
Jesus is remarkable. Truly. In the moment after Judas leaves and His fate is sealed, Jesus turns His attention to the glory of God. He turns away from the betrayal and into the gaze of the Father. Judas leaves to hand Jesus over, and Jesus is only concerned with the Father’s glory.
Let’s be honest - this verse is a sea of pronouns and can be a bit dizzying. But, it’s said so beautifully in The Message version, “Now the Son of Man is seen for who He is, and God seen for who He is in Him. The moment God is seen in Him, God’s glory will be on display. In glorifying Him, He Himself is glorified—glory all around!”
“Now, the Son of Man is seen for who He is”
Jesus, the Son of Man, can only truly be seen for who He is when God is glorified within Him. And the same goes for us. We can only become who we truly are through communion with the Father. When He is glorified within us, we become who we were born to be.
When God is glorified through us, we are seen for who we truly are. When He is glorified within us, it’s a win win scenario - He is glorified, and we are fully alive in the privilege of participating in it. When we allow God to guide our lives, live within us, and be glorified through us, we are given the gift of ourselves. Today, I’m including some soaking worship music so that you can rest in Him and make space for Him to teach you about His glory within you - so that you, like Christ, can be seen for who you truly are.
Father,
Thank You. Thank You thank You thank You for welcoming us into Your glory. Thank You for working in us and through us to bring light to the world and to showcase Your magnificence.
Father, teach us how to glorify You always. Remind us throughout the day to focus on You, to stay connected to You, never to break the invisible tether of connection between us.
God, we know that without You we would cease to be. Help us to return the love that You give to us by glorifying You always - that our lives would be a platform for Your glory.
God, we love You. Show us how to live for Your glory everyday. Amen.
