A Good Measure

“Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap.”

Happy Monday, Sisters.  Today, we’re starting the week off a little differently.

A few months ago, I had the privilege of speaking to a room full of lively college students at the end of a retreat.  It was awesome to watch so many vibrant, fun, holy men and women give their lives to Jesus. My talk was the last of the retreat, and I got to talk about what I’d do if I were them - how to leave this retreat and head back into the real world.

As we enter into Lent more deeply this week, I thought it would be a good time to revisit the truths in this talk. Sisters, let’s truly open our hearts to the gifts that God has given - gifts of friendship, community, prayer, intimacy, and change.

Father,

Thank You for Your words.  Thank You for Your inspiration.  Thank You for the scriptures. Thank You for bringing Your love to life in us.  Thank You for worship and for freedom.

Father, help us to be better disciples.  Help us to build rhythms of life that support our relationship with You first.  Help us to put You first in all things. Give us belief in Your love and Your care.

Abba, we love You.  Help us to live for You.  Amen.
