Good & True

“O Lord, great peace have they who love Your law”

Even when we encounter unrest and disagreement, we have access to peace and freedom when we focus on Christ’s laws.  When we live by Christ’s teaching, we can strip off the woes of our world and take on the freedom of Christ.

As children of God, we’re wrapped in His cloak of love and acceptance.  We’re not chosen because of our actions, but because our God has chosen us - and when we remain close to Him, to the One who chooses us, we’ll encounter the freedom we so desperately crave.

God’s laws lead to freedom.

In a world of disagreements, in a world of outrage, in a world so full of sadness, we can take comfort in the laws that God has given to us.  We can trust that He is the way, the life, and the truth.  We can trust that His laws will always be good and true because He is good and true.

As we close out this chaotic week, we can walk into the weekend knowing that God never changes and that when we feel out of control, we can control our response to His laws.  When we don’t know what to do, we can embrace His way, follow His lead, and obey His laws - because God is always good, and His word is always true.

Father,

Thank You for the comfort of Your steadiness.  Thank You for the comfort of Your leadership.  Thank You for offering us a steady way, an honest way to work on ourselves despite what’s happening around us.

Father, teach us.  Teach us how to keep our gaze fixed on You.  Teach us how to walk in Your ways no matter what may provoke us.

God, we love You.  Help us to follow You always.  Amen.
