Like You Love You
“The Lord takes delight in His people.”
Delight: cause or source of great pleasure. It’s really hard to fathom - that our God takes delight in us. Of all the things to bring Him pleasure and joy, He finds His delight in us.
We’re not just daughters that He loves out of obligation, with an unconditional but tired love. His love for us never tires because it isn’t a general kind of love. God’s love for us is personal; it’s based on who we are, who He made us to be.
He likes you so much He loves you.
Your God delights in you. His delight isn’t based on all the things that you aren’t - but all the things that you are. He likes you - He enjoys being with you. He never wants to be parted from you because He DELIGHTS in being with you - that’s the place where His love starts. He doesn’t just love you - He LIKES you.
Our Father’s love starts from a place of enjoyment with you, contentment with you, and delight with you. God doesn’t love you begrudgingly, but with excitement and adventure and joy. He can’t wait to show you all that He has in store for you. He’s a fan of yours. He’s willing to bet on you. He’s your champion.
Father,
Thank You for choosing us, for loving us, for wanting us. Thank You for betting on us. Thank You for not just loving us, but LIKING us, for wanting to be with us.
Teach us how to find the same delight in You that You find in us. Help us to embrace the person that You see. Teach us how to see the person that You see within us.
God, we love You. Thank You for championing us. Amen.
