The Way
“I am the way and the truth and the life.”
In a global pandemic, it can be difficult to know what to do, it can be trying to sort out how to respond, and it can straight-up suck to figure out what or who to believe. Truth be told, I’m sick of, “these are unprecedented times” and “did you do your research?” and “where did you hear that?”
As we’re struggling to draw the lines between what’s acceptable and what isn’t, tensions are rising, and uncertainty is raging. Neighbors and friends are casting judgment, and fear is rampant. And while we might be striving to find a way out of this corona mess, Jesus offers Himself to us again.
He is the way.
Sisters, we can either grasp for control and understanding or surrender to Him. He is the way. He is our truth. He is our life. Our way is the way that He leads. Our truth is the truth that He provides. And our life is completely dependent on Him and His love for us.
We might think that we can find the answer by our own might, but the most important answer is always Christ. If Jesus is our way and our truth and our life, we have nothing to fear. If we’re brave enough to ask Him where to go and are willing to follow Him where He leads, we will already know the way. Our way is with Him.
Father,
Thank You for providing a way for us. Thank You for being the solid ground when the world seems to be shaking.
Teach us how to lean on You entirely. Teach us how to look to You first and to follow Your lead without question.
God, we love You. We confess that You are our way. Amen.
