All is Gift
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him,”
This weekend, a friend texted with an urgent prayer request. Being the decent human being that I am, I quickly responded that I was praying for them. A few hours later, I heard from my friend - there was a major breakthrough shortly after I prayed.
Now, I’ll be honest - I felt a significant surge in pride after hearing this. Because my first instinct was to take credit. I was the one who prayed, so I caused something miraculous. Ha!
God is the One working the miracles.
Whether it’s an answered prayer or Him drawing us closer - He’s the one working miracles. Every good gift is from above - including our faith. When God draws us close, that’s a gift. Our ability to say yes to Him is a gift. Our receptivity to a relationship with Him is a gift.
All is gift. Scripture says that, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17. So sisters, be grateful today for “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8) For surely, these are gifts from the Father.
Father,
Thank You for every good gift that You lavish upon us. Thank You for being generous and showering beauty on us this Spring.
Teach us how to open our eyes, to see the good things that You’ve set before us. Teach us how to recognize Your generosity.
God, we love You. Help us see You at every turn today. Amen.
