Victory!
“It was impossible for Him to be held by it.”
He is RISEN!! Happy Easter!! We’ve waited a loooong 40 days for this time of rejoicing, and it’s a welcome gift to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Our first reading reminds us that it was impossible for Jesus to be held by the grave and that truth comes with a healthy dose of hope.
Even amidst this craziness with COVID 19, we can have hope that no matter what’s going on, Jesus isn’t held by death - and because He isn’t, neither are we.
Because Jesus is free from death and darkness, so are we.
I know it’s easy to get pulled down from the high of His victory because of the little deaths and darknesses throughout our day. The frustrating moments, the inconveniences, the annoyances all get in the way of living in victory. But no matter what’s going on, the cross always has the final word and nothing can hold Christ’s victory back.
Sisters, let’s rest and rejoice today. Instead of worry and anxiety and fear, let’s rejoice in the freedom that Jesus just won for us - because the little deaths that bind us and the little darknesses that overshadow us are no match for Christ’s light and His victory! He’s unstoppable, and no death, great or small, can hold Him back. Sisters, let’s allow His victory and the victory we gain through Him to be enough today because it’s truly impossible for Him to be held by it.
Father,
Thank You. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Thank You for rising and taking us with You.
Remind us to be grateful, Father. Remind us to be grateful every day, in every moment, and with all our hearts for the great gift You’ve purchased for us.
God, we love You. Thank You for winning. Amen.
