Hidden
“For there is nothing hidden except to be made visible; nothing is secret except to come to light.”
Sisters, I’m going to be honest. Today, I was really tempted to repurpose and remix one of my first JOANIE posts, titled What’s Your Lampstand? But, Jesus convicted my heart that His word to us is different today.
Jesus hit me with this reality today: the truth always comes out. You can’t hide from it. Before Him, every truth will come out: the truth of the state of my heart, the truth of my relationship with Him, the truth of my desires and emotions. It’s an endless list.
Nothing is hidden from Him.
Everything is brought to light in His presence. And that’s good. Painful, but good. Uncomfortable, but good. Difficult, but good. I bare my sin and my weakness before Him, intentionally or not, and I’m seen. I might think I’m hiding, I might think I put up a good front, but I don’t. He sees beyond my layers of self-protection and directly into my heart - into the truth.
Sisters, we can’t hide from Him, but we can hide in Him. We can find rest in the comfort of His arms. When we dwell in Him, He brings peace to every truth. No matter the truth, He comes with peace and freedom. We can find a home in the secret place, and there’s no other place our hearts need to be but hidden in Him.
Father,
Thank You for giving us a safe place to hide and to rest. Thank You for allowing us to hide our hearts in You. Thank You for helping us to face the truth of who You are and who we are before You.
Father, help us to bring our whole hearts to You. Help us to be truthful before You. Help us to be humble enough to be honest with You.
God, we love You. Help us to run to the secret place and face the truth with You. Amen.
